About Tecnica
Tecnica Building Surveyors & Consultants is a Victorian-based practice that has been issuing building permits, running mandatory inspections and handling building certification since 2019 for builders, architects, designers, owner-builders and small developers across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Led by Director Kim Fernando , a VBA-registered Building Surveyor with eighteen years expertise across local government and private practice.
Their difference is service, not scale. Clients deal with the same surveyor for the whole job, calls get answered, and approvals are explained in plain language. Most of the practice’s growth has come from repeat work and referrals.

The Challenge
A trusted practice. A website that didn’t back it up.
Tecnica’s reputation in Victorian building surveying was solid. Their website was the weakest thing about the business and for a builder or architect comparing certifiers, it was often the first thing they saw.
The brand wasn’t there. A logo on a black marble stock background, and nothing else that looked like Tecnica.
No proof of a team. One director profile, one photo. No sense of who actually handles a permit or turns up to an inspection.
Thin service content. Vague labels like “Services we offer” instead of the permits, inspections and certification people actually search for.
No clear next step. A visitor ready to lodge had no obvious way to start.
It looked dormant. A 2022 copyright line on a site being read in 2026.

The Extreme Marketing Strategy
The brief was to build a website that represents the practice properly and to give that website the structure that search engines and clients both need.
Website Rebuild
Carried the gold and black identity through every page instead of parking it in the logo
Built a hero that states who Tecnica is and who they work for, in one screen
Added clear actions – Start a Project, Get in Touch on every page
Structured How Clients Search
Pages focused on what customers actually search for, like building permits, building inspections, and building certification, instead of internal company terminology.
Compliance advice framed against the National Construction Code and Victorian regulations
Melbourne and regional Victoria coverage stated explicitly, not implied
Clean technical foundations: crawlable structure, proper titles, indexable service content
Authority & Content Strategy
Full team profiles with roles and credentials
How we’re different –availability, on-time delivery, personal service stated as commitments
Contact details, hours, and location surfaced site-wide
The Results
Tecnica is a specialist practice in a considered, low-volume market , a builder engages a surveyor a handful of times a year, not weekly. So the honest headline isn’t a traffic explosion but stronger visibility for relevant searches and a website that effectively converts interested visitors into enquiries.
